Mental Toughness – Forged by CrossFit

Sometimes you just dread going to the gym. You see the workout posted on the website and you know it’s going to hurt.

It’s probably going to be the toughest thing you do all day.

That’s the reality most of us face in our comfortable lives. We follow the same routine day in and day out. We go to work, run the kids to soccer and swimming, and then fall into bed exhausted. Seldom are we willing to go outside our comfort zone.

It’s easy to get complacent.

Not everyone seeks to build mental toughness by jumping out of airplanes. CrossFit offers a safe place to test your mettle. Pushing through a tough workout builds mental fortitude. Resilience is strengthened in the Filthy Fifty or Fight Gone Bad. It takes courage to try a new exercise.

The reality is life can and will get hard. Building some mental toughness in the gym prepares you for that inevitable hardship. How you face a challenging workout speaks volumes about how you will handle adversity.

Stepping out of that rut is hard. CrossFit is hard. That’s why it’s so good.
